Major Prunus Traits

The position of 28 major trait loci affecting agronomic characters found in various Prunus species have been established in TxE map using the data from different linkage maps anchored with the TxE reference map (Dirlewanger et al. 2004). Below is the description of the trait loci obtained from the publication and direct communication with Dr Pere Arus. Click the gene symbol to view the locus along with the markers and the anchored ESTs in TxE map. Genes Dl and Br, located on an unknown position of G2, are not shown in CMap. Click here to view the TxE map with anchored trait loci only.

*These three loci are placed on TxE by cosegregation with TxE markers.
Ag ("antera groga"= yellow vs. antocyanic anther): cosegregates with CC2 in G3 (27.7cM)
Sw (Sweet vs. Bitter kernel): cosegregates with AG46 in G5 (32.9cM)
Si (Self incompatibility, stylar ribonuclease gene): cosegregates with PLG39C (79.6)

The rest comes from the positions of these loci in other maps with common markers. The position of the rest of the trait loci are tentatively assigned from Figure 3 of the paper (Dirlewanger et al. 2004) to display them in CMap.
