Comments	Flower: single; 40 mm diameter; purplish red. Fruit: size very small, 20mm; skin purplish red, too dark to be decorat- ive; shape round; calyx persistent. Tree: low, shrubby form but taller than Sargent. Leaves: deep reddish purple on current season shoots deeply incised; young leaves at shoot tips covered with fine, silvery-white hairs; susceptible to fire blight. Bark: very dark color.
