Bears early-ripens October--best for drying. Vigorous, long-lived tree is annually productive. Excellent pollinator. Ripens 2 to 3 weeks before McIntosh; does not drop as readily. Very winter hardy to -40 degrees F. Storage 120 days at 31 degrees F. Additional lit.cit.: Whealy, K. 1989, Fruit, Berry and Nut Inv. p.37; 1992-93. H. Apple.
